Healthcare Poland Foundation and Pomeranian Voivodeship sign a letter of intent for innovative healthcare

On June 2, 2025, a breakthrough event for the healthcare system in the region took place in Gdańsk. Michał Piotr Dybowski, President of the Management Board of the Healthcare Poland Foundation, signed a letter of intent with the Pomeranian Voivodeship, represented by Marshal Mieczysław Struk, Vice-Marshal Leszek Bonna and Vice-Marshal Marcin Skwierawski. The agreement opens the door to cooperation aimed at improving the quality and availability of healthcare services in the Pomeranian Voivodeship through the implementation of modern technologies, including pioneering regulatory sandboxes.

Regulatory Sandboxes – Innovation in Healthcare

As part of the cooperation, all healthcare entities subordinate to the Pomeranian Voivodeship will be the first in Poland to introduce regulatory sandboxes. These controlled test environments will enable safe testing of solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI), such as:

✔ Medical diagnostics: automatic analysis of medical images (e.g. X-ray, MRI, CT), making diagnoses faster and more precise.

✔ Process automation: optimisation of patient registration, document management and financial settlements, allowing staff to focus on patient care.

✔ Personalization of treatment: adaptation of therapy to individual patient needs based on the analysis of medical data.

✔ Personnel training: education of medical and non-medical personnel in the use of modern technologies.

Sandboxes will ensure compliance with EU regulations, including AI Act and GDPR, and patient data protection. AI systems will undergo a rigorous certification process, such as AIACT, ensuring their safety, quality and ethics.
