A new step towards secure digital health

The Social Insurance Institution has formally joined the Polish ISEC in health, becoming a member of the Coalition for Cybersecurity in the healthcare sector

What does this mean?

The accession of ZUS to the coalition is an important step in building a secure digital environment in the Polish healthcare sector. The initiative, launched on 29 May 2024, aims to raise cybersecurity standards through:

Education and training — access to specialist cybersecurity programmes and workshops,

Setting standards — developing and implementing the highest security procedures,

Audits and monitoring — regular review of the security posture and recommendations for corrective action,

Technological support — cooperation with leading suppliers of medical technology,

Exchange of experience — conferences and thematic meetings with experts.

Why does it matter?

Cybersecurity in healthcare is becoming a priority, and the growing threats of the digital world demand particular attention from all of us. Through cooperation between public and private institutions such as ZUS, we can protect patient data more effectively and support the development of modern safeguards for our healthcare system.

The Healthcare Poland Foundation, acting as coordinator of the coalition, is already working intensively towards the initiative’s objectives. A series of educational events and training sessions is planned for the near future, allowing participants to learn about the latest solutions and best practices in cybersecurity. Further detail on the coalition’s activity can be found at Cybersecurity in Healthcare (CyberC4HE).
